1959
Dr. Charles L. Chambliss started his Mobile, AL practice after completing the orthodontic residency program at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. The first office was located on Monterey Street, just off of Government Street.

1965
Orthodontist Dr. Chambliss stayed at the Monterey Street location until 1965 and built an office on Beltline Highway named Dr. Charles L. Chambliss, D.M.D. He also began a satellite practice in Brewton, AL, to offer more convenience for patients.

1970
Dr. J. Russell Goodloe, Jr. began to practice with Dr. Chambliss, and the new practice name became Drs. Chambliss and Goodloe, DMD, PC. This same year, Dr. Goodloe began a satellite practice in Jackson, AL, expanding the team’s reach.

1991
Dr. Rosalyn Salter joined the practice, built by Dr. Chambliss and Dr. Goodloe, who practiced together from 1970 until 1991. Dr. Chambliss retired two years later, and the practice name changed to Drs. Goodloe and Salter, DMD, PC. signifying a new partnership.

1997
The practice moved from Beltline Highway to the present location on Hillcrest Road. We renamed the practice Hillcrest Orthodontics, PC. Dr. Goodloe retired in 2008, and Dr. Salter continues the practice today as a solo orthodontist in Mobile with a satellite practice in Brewton.

Hillcrest Orthodontics continues to provide excellent orthodontic treatment for thousands of patients, many of whom are now friends and bring in their children for dental care. We’re honored to positively impact so many lives in the Brewton and Mobile, AL area with orthodontics for kids and adults.
